How I Built Mentorize: An AI Learning Platform

Interactive courses, an AI tutor that works across all major AI providers, real-time team chat, and cloud storage. Mentorize is the all-in-one learning platform I built to replace the fragmented tools most learners rely on.

Most learning platforms have the same shape. There is a library of video courses. You watch them. You maybe pass a quiz at the end. Then you leave and try to remember what you watched a week later.

That model is not bad, but it is missing something: the person who helps you understand, not just consume.

Mentorize is the platform I built to fix that. It started as a solo project and grew into a multi-product learning system, built under the tagline: “Where mentors help you memorize.”

What the platform actually is

Mentorize is a suite of tools that work together, not one isolated app:

The learning app at app.mentorize.me is where courses, quizzes, and flashcards live. You can create your own learning modules, share them with others, and access a growing library of community content. Content can be public, private, or shared with a specific team.

The AI mentor at ai.mentorize.me is a chat interface connected to all major AI providers and their models. It is built specifically for learning: it can quiz you, explain concepts in different ways, recommend courses based on what you are studying, generate new practice material on the fly, and respond in over 80 languages.

The team chat at chat.mentorize.me is real-time messaging with channels, direct messages, and voice and video. Learning is social. This is where study groups and teams work together.

The cloud drive at drive.mentorize.me is where media, documents, and course materials live. Upload once, reference from anywhere on the platform.

Why it is different

Three things I kept coming back to while building it.

First, the AI should teach, not just answer. The AI mentor is context-aware. It knows what you are learning, can pull from your course materials, and adapts its explanations when something is not landing. That is different from pasting a question into a general chatbot.

Second, privacy is not negotiable. Zero data selling. The platform is GDPR compliant and designed from day one with user data protection as a requirement, not an afterthought.

Third, it should be free to start. The HOBBY tier is free forever: core learning features, limited AI usage, no credit card required. You can do a lot before you need to upgrade.

Where it is heading

The docs, slides, sheets, and photos apps are in development. The vision is a workspace where learning and the tools that support it, including writing, presenting, and collaborating, live in one place under one account.

If you are a learner, educator, or building a team that takes development seriously, mentorize.me is worth a visit. The free tier is a good starting point.
